This statement has been agreed at the Social Partnership Forum and will be going out to the service, Trusts and Strategic Health Authorities, from David Nicholson NHS CEO. It is essential that this message go direct to ensure Trusts and SHAs observe the Principles of the NHS as the preferred provider.

It is the pressure from the Health B4 Profit campaign, NHS Together and the Social Partnership forum th at has brought about a much needed 'shift' in policy direction.

Please take particular note of the content on the statement and letter which comes direct from Andy Burnham and will be re-enforced to all Trusts by the NHS CEO David Nicholson. This will make it clear that the approach taken by those Trusts who have disregarded staff concerns and have been pushing the privatisation agenda at all costs have got it wrong!

Health B4 Profit will continue-this statement gives strength and support to our campaign- we need to build local and specific campaigns to challenge those Trusts and Strategic Health Authorities who persist in fragmenting the NHS-we need to use this information now to force them to observe both Ministerial and NHS Executive Instructions.

The pressure we have exerted with our HB4P campaign has contributed to this shift in policy direction.

Despite the Government's new position, we know that in many areas like Luton, Kingston and more, PCTs are ignoring this important new policy and attempting to push through privatisation.  If your PCT is still trying to force through the creation of a 'social enterprise' we need to to tell us.  Please click on the link below and tell us what's happening in your area:
