Unite's reaction to the Queen's speech
18th November 2009
Unite joint general secretary, Derek Simpson, said: "Labour has
set out a clear vision for a fairer society while supporting the
economic recovery. Closing the gap between rich and poor and
addressing gender inequality are proof that Labour stands for
fairness.
"The Tories bleak vision of the future means savage cuts to
public services and making people work for longer and for
less."
Unite joint general secretary, Tony Woodley, added: "We are
urging the government to ensure that the much-needed measures to
end the abuse of agency workers should be put into effect before
the next general election."
